Seller’s Energy Audit

As of June 1, 2009, the City of Austin is requiring all non-exempt homes in Austin to have an ECAD (Energy Conservation Audit Disclosure) performed before the home is sold. The data obtained is for potential home buyers to inform them of the energy efficiency of the home. The seller is not required to perform upgrades they are only responsible for having the audit performed.

Multi-Family Facilities

Austin Energy now requires multi-family facilities that are ten years old as of June 1, 2009 must have an Energy Audit of the facility performed not later than June 1, 2011. Audits must be performed by a Building Performance Analyst (B.P.I. Certified or equivalent certification.)
